What is the difference between vinyl and laminate?

Laminate has a photographic wood-look layer over a dense core board. Luxury vinyl plank (LVP) is fully synthetic and waterproof, which makes it a better fit for kitchens, bathrooms and basements. Laminate can look a touch more like real wood grain up close. We carry both.

What is LVP?

LVP stands for luxury vinyl plank: a synthetic, waterproof flooring that looks like real wood or stone. It is durable, budget-friendly and well suited to busy households.

Which is best for homes with pets?

LVP and laminate are usually the easiest, since both resist scratches and moisture well.

Can I use it in a kitchen or bathroom?

Luxury vinyl plank is a popular choice for kitchens, bathrooms and basements. Laminate is better suited to drier living spaces and bedrooms.

How do I care for vinyl and laminate?

Sweep or vacuum, then damp-mop with a manufacturer-approved cleaner. Avoid steam mops and excess water, especially on laminate.

How long do they last?

Luxury vinyl plank and laminate typically last 15 to 25 years.
